Which is the best registry cleaner?
It is said that keeping the registry clear of clutter, & in good repair, means a smooth, faster running computer. There are a lot of programs out there which claim to do all of this. I’m having a problem getting my Roxio CD &DVD Burning program to work properly. Everything is loaded as it should be, with the exception of the PhotoSuite. I’ve uninstalled this program several times, but to no avail. When installing, I’m not asked to register the product as in the beginning. Someone told me I might have Spyware, so I cleaned everything that should be cleaned, then installed the program again. Still, no Photosuite installed. I’ve also been told there are likely registry problems, that I should install DivX & some Kodec things, but I don’t know what these are. My O/S is Windows XP-Pro.
Im at wits end with this thing & don’t know what to do? I’d love to be able to get into the registry so see what’s what, but I don’t know what I’m doing in that regard. Help!!!
Having a clean reinstall of Windows will cost me at least $100., not something I’m prepared to pay at the moment.
CCleaner is a good cleaner. It is free and can be used to uninstall programs, scan and fix registry issues such as missing or unused keys and gets rid of temporary files that take up space on your computer. You can get it from places like download.com. Type it into google.
